The Senior Analyst Demand Planning, is responsible for leading and managing the demand planning process to ensure accurate and efficient forecasting and inventory management. This role requires a deep understanding of demand planning methodologies, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with various departments, including sales, marketing, finance, and operations. The Senior Analyst will play a critical role in driving data-driven decision-making to optimize supply chain performance and support the overall business strategy.

 

  • Forecasting and Analysis:
    • Develop and maintain demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for various time horizons.
    • Utilize advanced statistical and modeling techniques to analyze historical sales data, market trends, and other relevant factors.
    • Continuously improve forecasting accuracy by identifying and implementing best practices.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Monitor and analyze inventory levels to ensure alignment with demand forecasts and business objectives.
    • Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to develop and execute inventory strategies that minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
    • Conduct root cause analysis of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with sales, marketing, finance, and operations teams to gather input and insights for demand planning.
    • Facilitate cross-functional meetings to review demand forecasts, address discrepancies, and align on assumptions.
    • Communicate demand plans, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance the demand planning process through automation, system enhancements, and process standardization.
    • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and effectiveness of demand planning activities.
    • Develop and maintain demand planning documentation, including standard operating procedures and training materials.
  • Performance Measurement:
    • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand planning accuracy, inventory levels, and service levels.
    • Prepare and present regular reports and dashboards to monitor performance and drive data-driven decision-making.
    • Conduct post-mortem analysis to evaluate the accuracy of demand forecasts and the impact of planning decisions.

Minimum Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years relevant work experience; 4+ years of equivalent work experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree.
  • Masters degree with 3+ relevant work experience.

 

Specific Skills or Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or a related supply chain role.
  • Proficiency in demand planning software (e.g., SAP APO, JDA, Oracle Demantra) and advanced Excel skills. Experience with statistical forecasting tools and techniques is a plus.
  • APICS or other relevant supply chain certification is a plus.
