The primary role of the Customer Compliance/Logistics Manager is to provide leadership to all inbound and outbound retail customer interfaces as they relate to compliance and logistics across all of HBI.  

The position is fully responsible for insuring that all new retail relationships are properly established so that retail compliance is achieved across all of HBI and all classes of trade.  In addition quick identification of compliance shortcomings and appropriate action steps to rectify will be critical to success in this position.  The incumbent will provide analysis of Deductions and Logistics data that will improve research and resolution of Distribution and EDI claims and deductions, provide trend and summary analysis that will facilitate change for meeting customer requirements. The incumbent will research deduction causes, establish processes and controls to reduce/avoid chargeback’s and actively promote supply chain balance between HBI and our customers.  The incumbent will directly interface with Retailers at various levels to fully understand their requirements and how they are utilized, as well as develop an understanding of their expectations to establish an organized process and procedure for maximizing execution and ensuring compliance within DC operations.  The Compliance Manager will focus on achieving and surpassing customer expectations through leveraging positive relationships internal and external to HBI.  This position is integral to maintaining the proper balance between front end sales and back end execution.  Frequent communication and partnership building with retailers will be required.

 

Responsibilities

  • Make strategic, tactical, and immediate operational/logistical decisions that lead to providing superior customer support and “preferred vendor” status.
  • Actively interface with internal customers:  Sales, Forecasting, Logistics, Marketing, Credit, Distribution, Customer Operations, Information Technology, and other internal customers.  Interaction will occur with all levels within the organization including Managers, Directors and Vice Presidents
  • Serve as a central point of contact to communicate retail compliance initiatives to and from retail customers.   Monitor retail compliance programs for existing retail customers and coordinate efforts internally to maintain.
  • Identify existing non-compliant activities and develop best practice solutions to become compliant with each retailer.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of supply chain for HBI products from concept of product to delivery to customer.
  • Develop a strategic, professional relationship with logistics staff at key retail accounts.
  • Work directly with key retailers on new initiatives regarding retail compliance or logistics.  This would include but not be limited to packaging requirements, labeling requirements, DY Bypass or Port of Entry opportunities, etc.
  • Ensure HBI maintains retailer compliance with all customers on a consistent basis
  • Provide input into and determine executing of outbound marketing/sales/support campaigns and programs.
  • Drive process improvements within/across departments and influence improvement external to the department.
  • Heavily involved in testing key system changes/enhancements as they relate to their customers.

 

Minimum Education/ Experience      

Bachelor's degree with 5+ years relevant work experience OR Master's + 3+ relevant work experience; 4+ years of equivalent work experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree.

 

Specific Skills or Experience Required:

  • BS, BA, or equivalent 4 year degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or related professional experience is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in the compliance or logistical arena is strongly preferred.
  • A very good understanding of EDI, Distribution (both internal and Retailer), and Supply Chain processes is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with/across internal departments and representing HBI’s best interests while fostering positive relationships with $5 Billion plus retail base.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills are required
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Problem solving and analytical skills will be required to resolve customer issues, measure performance and drive productivity.
