The Lead Database Architecture Analyst will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our database systems. This role requires a deep understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, and security management. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in database administration and a proven track record of leading technical teams. Experience with On Prem and Cloud hosted workloads.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Database Design and Architecture: Develop and implement database strategies, architecture, and standards to ensure data integrity and security.
  • Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance, including tuning queries and managing indexes to ensure efficient data retrieval.
  • Database Maintenance: Oversee regular maintenance tasks such as backups, patching, and updates to ensure database reliability and availability.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Provide expert-level support for resolving database issues, including troubleshooting and implementing corrective measures.
  • Data Migration & Modernization: Manage database migrations, modernization and upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity during transitions.
  • Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access and breaches.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of DBAs, providing guidance and support on best practices and technical challenges.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed technical documentation for database configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Project Management: Participate in or lead projects related to database development, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.

 

Minimum Education/ Experience           

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with 7+ years relevant work experience OR Master's 5+ years relevant work experience; 4+ years of equivalent work experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree                          

 

Specific Skills or Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in database administration.
  • Proficiency in database management systems such as Oracle, DB2,SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
  • Strong knowledge of database architecture, performance tuning, and security practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
  • Experience with data migration and database upgrades.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
