We are seeking an experienced Lead, Data Architect to drive the architecture and development of our enterprise data and analytics platform. This role is responsible for architecting end-to-end data and analytics frameworks that support data science, business intelligence, and artificial intelligence initiatives. The successful candidate collaborates closely with data engineers, data scientists, platform admins, and business stakeholders to develop and implement robust data and analytic architectures that drive innovation, optimize performance, and ensure the reliable delivery of analytical insights. The role ensures the organization’s data and analytics platforms are secure, scalable, and aligned with the needs of the business.

 

Responsibilities

• Architectural Strategy & Platform Design: Develop and execute an enterprise data and analytics architectural strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and scalability. Architect end-to-end data solutions that support distributed processing and advanced analytics, optimizing performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.

• Analytics Platform Leadership: Collaborate with digital product owners, data scientists and analysts to translate business requirements into data models and architecture for data and AI products.

Infrastructure Optimization: Continuously enhance data and analytics platforms; regularly evaluate system performance and identify areas for improvement to ensure platform resilience and scalability.

• Data Model & Integration: Design and oversee the integration of disparate data sources, creating an optimized, efficient data ecosystem.

• Data Governance: Collaborate with Data Governance function to implement data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, privacy, and compliance.

• Collaboration & Cross-Functional Leadership: Strategic liaison between data engineering, analytics, and business units. Foster collaboration to ensure the successful delivery of new data products and solutions that meet the needs of the business.

• Innovation & Emerging Technologies: Identify and champion new tools, methodologies, and data sources to advance data and analytics capabilities.

 • Data Science & ML: Partner with data scientists to optimize models and approaches, supporting robust and repeatable deployment and monitoring of machine learning solutions.

• Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Mentor junior architects and data engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

 

Minimum Education/ Experience

 

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field with 7+ years relevant work experience; 12+ years of equivalent work experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree.

 

Preferred Education/ Experience

Master's degree with 6+ relevant work experience;

 

Specific Skills or Experience Required

  • Deep expertise in data modeling, data engineering, or analytics, with a strong background in designing enterprise-scale data platforms.
  • Experience with data ingress, egress, reporting, data warehousing, data services/ API, AI/ML integration and analytics platforms.
  • Proficiency in cloud-based data platforms (Azure preferred) and data warehousing, ETL, and data integration technologies.
  • Ability to manage and organize developers and solutions on analytics platforms such as Databricks.
  • Strong skills in data analysis with expertise in Python and SQL.
  • Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and security best practices.
  • Management of multi-disciplinary team development to meet deadline and deliverable quality.
  • Experience with multiple machine learning competencies such as time-series, optimization and regression/classification problems.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and mentoring teams.
  • Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code skills would be beneficial.
  • Exposure to advanced AI solutions (Large Language Models, Computer Vision) is a plus.
  • Experience with MLOps and deploying machine learning models at scale is a plus.
  • Experience with retail or consumer packaged goods is a plus.
