We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to develop and implement enterprise-level data and analytics architectures that support data science, business intelligence, and artificial intelligence initiatives. This role is a individual contributor responsible for defining and executing scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions across a diverse technology stack. The ideal candidate will work across data engineering, analytics, governance, and business teams to ensure adherence to architectural standards and best practices, while enabling robust, cost-effective, and future-ready data capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Architectural Strategy & Platform Design: Design and implement end-to-end data architecture strategies that align with enterprise goals and technical capabilities across platforms like Azure, Databricks, SAP BW, and DSP. Architect for scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
- Data Modeling & Integration: Develop enterprise data models and oversee integration strategies across heterogeneous data sources including Azure/Databricks, Oracle, SQL Server, SAP BW, Datasphere and Informatica.
- Infrastructure Optimization: Evaluate performance and scalability of data platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, Databricks, SSIS) and recommend improvements to support high availability and operational efficiency.
- Data Governance & Compliance: Partner with the Data Governance team to ensure data quality, lineage, privacy, and compliance requirements are embedded into architecture designs.
- Analytics Enablement: Collaborate with BI developers and analysts to support Power BI models, SSAS tabular models, and optimized reporting infrastructure that enable self-service analytics and enterprise insights.
- Cross-Platform Collaboration: Act as a subject matter expert across cloud (Azure), ETL (Informatica, SSIS), and data warehouse solutions, guiding consistency and interoperability across platforms.
- Advanced Analytics & ML Enablement: Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to design data pipelines and architectures that support scalable deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management of ML models in environments like Azure Databricks.
- Metadata & Data Lineage: Ensure visibility, traceability, and proper documentation of data pipelines through effective use of metadata, lineage tracking, and data cataloging practices.
- Innovation & Tool Evaluation: Stay informed on emerging technologies, methods, and industry trends. Evaluate and recommend new tools or approaches to improve architecture robustness and agility.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve data architecture frameworks and development practices to support evolving business requirements, technology shifts, and data product needs.
Minimum Education/ Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience 12+ years of equivalent experience can substitute for a degree.
Preferred Education/ Experience
Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience preferred.
Specific Skills or Experience Required
- Proven experience architecting data platforms across Azure Data Services, Azure Synapse, and Azure Databricks
- Strong experience with SAP BW and SAP Data Services (DSP), and integrating ERP data with enterprise data lakehouses
- Proficiency with Informatica, SSIS, and data integration frameworks
- Strong SQL and data modeling skills; experience with both SQL Server and Oracle databases
- Deep understanding of Power BI, including DAX, dataflows, semantic models, and enterprise deployment patterns
- Hands-on experience with SSRS, SSAS, and tabular models
- Strong understanding of data governance, privacy, and security best practices across platforms and tools
- Experience with data modernization and migration from legacy platforms to Azure-based lakehouse environments desired
- Familiarity with DataOps required. MLOps and cloud-native deployment of AI/ML models is a strong plus
- •Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform) is a plus
