The Analyst Logistics is responsible for the management and execution of all shipping documentation with an emphasis on adherence to U.S. export law to satisfy customer requirements of Hanesbrands international subsidiaries. The specialist is also is responsible for coordinating the development of all shipments, including raw materials for manufacturing support, and finished goods, with domestic and international transportation suppliers and distribution centers. In addition, function also includes supporting activities such as data analysis, system maintenance, and special projects. This person is also responsible for the development of procedures, and training of shippers of Finished Goods exports out of domestic Distribution Centers, both internal and contract.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for inputting key data into export/import documentation systems and reviewing and/or creating US and Foreign Customs documentation.
- Provides regulatory guidance to support mission-centric goals through program support.
- Effectively communicate daily and as needed operational updates verbally, via e-mail, and via telephone with internal and external global supply chain partners and customers. The global contacts include, but are not limited to; defined textile and supply shippers, purchasing personnel, cost accounting, trade compliance, ocean carrier, inland carriers, and third party logistics providers (3PL’s) as well as distribution centers and partners.
- Collaborates in the development and implementation of export/import policies and procedures and self-assessments
- Responsible for providing export compliance guidance to collective business units. This includes developing export compliance training procedures as needed for all levels of personnel.
- Manage the on-time movement of products/equipment/materials and finished goods globally in accordance with organizational policy and procedure, and to comply with the relevant local, country and international law and process.
- Lead problem solving investigations and process flow improvement activities to embrace the continuous improvement of Logistics Operations
- Support and execute optimal transportation and logistics routings for all modes of transportation, including oversized and overweight freight within the guidelines of the department and adhering to all associates regulatory agencies.
- Effectively manage and prioritize daily logistics task and responsibilities.
- Responsible for evaluating complex international business requirements, products, and strategies to ensure compliance with export regulations.
- Identifies export issues, develops resolutions, and provides guidance to management/applicable parties on resolving those issues.
- Develop self through classes, seminars, and/or organizational events in order to stay current in a global logistics environment.
Minimum Education/ Experience
Bachelor's degree with 3+ years relevant work experience OR Master's + 1+ relevant work experience; 4+ years of equivalent work experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree.
Specific Skills or Experience Required
• Bachelor Degree with preference in Supply Chain management and/or Logistics preferred.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, customs, international trade, manufacturing, and/or distribution
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite with proven ability utilizing Excel
• Ability to learn and utilize various types of software/information systems
• Good interpersonal skills. Ability to develop consensus on plans through dealing with diverse internal and external stakeholders
• Advanced communication abilities including professional level business writing skills
• Experience with exporting and/or importing via various ports of entry and modes of transportation preferred
• Knowledge of organizational supply chain and systems preferred
• Knowledge of trade programs related to textile and apparel preferred
• Must work effectively in a team environment while working independently in individual areas of responsibility.
• Ability to think systemically and solve problems effectively and efficiently.
• Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deliver consistent results within critical deadlines with little supervision.
