Transportation Analyst

This position is a subject matter expert and acts as escalation for problem resolution and exception management with global logistics partners from contracting to freight audit and pay.

Responsibilities:

• Provide analytical support to execute transportation and logistics services bids and RFQ’s.
• Compile and analyze historical shipping information to monitor trends, calculate transportation forecast based on business inputs, and help develop bid packages. Conduct analysis for pricing results and optimization scenarios. Prepare management reports on Bid results.
• Provide analysis of current transportation and operations practices to determine and address process and cost improvement opportunities, as well as, tracking and reporting transportation cost savings.
• Provide the necessary freight analysis and decision support systems for business verticals and functional areas.
• Update rates as needed with contract carriers and brokers, including updates to rate database, rate index tools, 3rd party freight payment provider, transportation budgets and freight standards.
• Effectively communicate daily and as needed operational updates verbally, via e-mail, and via telephone with internal and external global supply chain partners. The global contacts include, but are not limited to; defined textile and supply shippers, purchasing personnel, cost accounting, trade compliance, ocean carriers, inland carriers, third party logistics providers (3PL’s).

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor Degree with preference in Supply Chain management and/Logistics.
• Bilingual.
• Proficiency in data analysis and data analytical tools (Advanced Microsoft Suite skills).
• Aptitude for quantitative methods.
• Knowledge of all transportation modes and pricing structures.
• Critical thinking, ability to problem solve and resourceful at seeking resolution.
• Ability to learn and utilize various types of software / information systems.
• Experience: 3 to 5 years.
