As the Senior Technical Designer-Bra, you'll provide technical expertise through specifications and develop exceptional fit across Hanes, Maidenform, and Bali Brands. Collaborate with global technical teams to ensure a consistent approach to our cutting-edge fit process.
Responsibilities
Technical Excellence
Provide technical support to Design for new product developments. Partner with vendors/factories to innovate, problem solve technical and cost issues on our new product development. Provide clear fit comments to vendors and follow up. Provide analysis details for failed submissions where required. Provide continuous improvement ideas to speed up our NPD. Traveling to factories on a needs basis.
Garment Fitting
Develop & maintain garment blocks that ensure consistency of fit for the product for each brand/category. Simplify new development aligning styles to standard blocks. Develop best fit garments that meet brand requirements. Create garment specifications for new styles. Create accurate technical drawings for new styles and load in system. Collaborate with Bra Designers & fabric sourcing to develop & innovate new concepts for shape & fit. Provide clear fit appraisal for all new shape developments including grading & wear trials. Complete Sample Fit Evaluation in system and communication with vendor. Working as a team to meet competing category priorities.
Sample Management
Ensure each development style has a file with development history. Maintain sample library ongoing. Ensure specification files are kept updated in PLM/other systems. Ensure Fit Evaluation Reports are kept updated in PLM/other systems. Ensure that all Development Samples are correctly tagged or Sealed.
Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree with 5+ years relevant work experience OR Master's + 3+ relevant work experience; 4+ years of equivalent work experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree.
Specific Skills or Experience Required
Tertiary qualification in fashion based course/pattern making. Minimum of 3+ years' experience in a technical design and/or pattern making capacity within the apparel/lingerie/bra industry. Bra and Underwear experience, including understanding of bra construction, fabric moulding, and foam cup development. Computer grading Gerber or Lectra. Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. Computer grading experience using Gerber and /or Lectra. Teamwork. Collaborative and inclusive approach. Good time management. Ability to multi-task.

- Garment Fitting: Expertise in developing and maintaining garment blocks to ensure consistent fit across brands and categories. Ability to streamline new developments by aligning styles to standard blocks. Skills in developing garments that meet brand requirements and conducting fit appraisals, including grading and wear trials. Proficiency in creating garment specifications and technical drawings, and loading them into systems. Strong collaboration skills with designers and fabric sourcing teams to innovate new concepts for shape and fit.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to maintain detailed development history files and a sample library.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring all development samples are correctly tagged or sealed.
Salary range for this role: 112,200.00-115,360.00
