Engineering Operations Associate

 

Job Overview:

The primary role of the Engineering Operations Assistant is to collect, analyze and report data obtained from the departments and WM regarding facility operators’ production effectiveness to management.   This position will develop job standards and complex spreadsheets used to maintain the effectiveness of the overall operations of the distribution center.   Confidential and sensitive material will be processed by this position and must be protected

Major Responsibilities:

  • Daily metrics report update for departmental production
  • Create Promo and Rework area work rates (Rework and VAP, shipper trays, assorted cases, displays, etc.) in Citrix
  • Generate and distribute weekly Labor Management (LM) off-standard reports and graphs
  • Serves as backup for LM data entry and report generation and Citrix Promo and Rework data entry in absence of Production Tracking Coordinator
  • Track Promo VAS/Rework picking and packing by activity type
  • Application development
  • Create Internal Web applications using ASP.Net and MS SQL Server
  • Write VBA macros for Excel to connect to external SQL database
  • Write DB2 queries (WM/AS400).
  • Warehouse management systems  (WM/PKMS)
  • Create SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Conduct time studies using UMT Plus
  • Conduct weekly/monthly safety audits
  • Serves as backup to LM data entry and report generation and Citrix Promo and Rework data entry
  • Actively participate in safety programs such as the facility Safety Committee in addition to participating in other facility committees
  • Understands and follows HbI policies
  • Work independently and within groups on special non-recurring and ongoing projects
  • Execute other duties as deemed necessary

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office & WM

Minimum Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree with 1+ years work experience; 4+ years of equivalent work experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree

 

Job Specific Competencies:

  •  Data Analysis & Reporting: Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting production data. Ability to generate daily/weekly metrics and off-standard reports. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
  •  Technical Systems & Tools: Advanced Excel skills, including VBA macros. Experience with ASP.Net and MS SQL Server for internal web application development. Proficiency in DB2 queries (WM/AS400) and warehouse management systems (WM/PKMS). Familiarity with Citrix for Promo and Rework data entry.
  •  Process Optimization & Documentation: Ability to create and maintain SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures). Conduct time studies using UMT Plus. Track and improve Promo VAS/Rework processes.
  • Safety & Compliance: Conduct weekly/monthly safety audits. Active participation in safety committees and adherence to company policies.
  • Confidentiality & Integrity: Handle sensitive data with discretion. Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Work independently and in cross-functional teams. Serve as backup for multiple operational functions, requiring adaptability and teamwork.
