This position supports the Global Logistics Operations, supporting HbI’s Global Supply Chain. The Logistics Administrators is the logistics subject matter experts and liaison for problem resolution and exception management between global logistic partners, carriers, internally and externally managed shipping, receiving, and manufacturing facilities, and the HbI business unit to ensure the on time movement of goods and accurate logistics data to support visibility. The successful candidate must apply critical thinking, root cause analysis and a data-driven approach to identify and to prioritize initiatives. He/she must also be an excellent communicator to drive change, thrive in a fast paced and deadline driven environment. He/she must be detail & process oriented and comfortable interacting or working with cross-functional business and technical teams.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively communicate daily and as needed operational updates verbal and written with internal and external global supply chain partners, vendors, and customers. The global contacts include, but are not limited to; manufacturing and supply vendors, purchasing, planning, sales, marketing, customer service, finance and accounting, trade compliance, ocean and air carriers, inland carriers, and third party logistics providers (3PL’s).
- Manage the on-time movement of products/equipment/materials and finished goods globally in accordance with organizational policy and procedure, and to comply with the relevant local, country and international law and process. Proactively resolve issues to prevent shipment delays. Execute routing changes as approved by the business.
- Effectively communicate daily and as needed operational updates verbally and written with internal and external global supply chain partners. The global contacts include, but are not limited to: defined manufacturing and supply shippers, Purchasing, Trade Compliance, Logistics Providers and Carriers. This includes scheduling and conducting recurring and event/project intransit priority reviews with Planning departments.
- Execute payment of port fees as required to execute movement of shipments and prepare related expense reports. Research detention and demurrage invoices to support payment validation.
- Support and execute optimal transportation and logistics routings for all modes of transportation, within the global policies, and adhering to all associated regulatory agencies.
- Effectively manage and prioritize daily logistics task and responsibilities to include; reporting, updating information in excel and other Microsoft based tools, as well as, internal information systems.
- Utilize BI dashboards to identify logistics opportunities and accurate reporting of intransit shipment data.
- Responsible for scheduling and conducting recurring logistics provider calls to address current shipment execution (weekly with drayage providers, air forwarders, origin and destination management 3PL’s)
- Identify logistics service issues and work with respective internal departments and external providers to correct issues.
- Execute logistics procedures and proactively identify logistics/transportation/documentation compliance issues and support the facilitation of corrective action. Identify procedure updates and work with Transportation Analyst and Logistics Manager to ensure all procedures are current, consistent with operations, and adherence to policies.
- Monitor data integrity of logistics provider updates in all required business systems. Work with providers and shippers/receivers to correct data inaccuracies.
- Monitor Air Approval process workflow, making updates as needed to approvers and air forwarder allocation. Train internal employees on workflow functions.
- Act as a back-up to the Logistics manager attending meetings, conference calls, and overall acting as a representative of the department as needed. · Develop self through classes, seminars, and/or organizational events in order to stay current in global logistics environment and regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree with preference in Supply Chain management and/or Logistics.
- 3 to 5 years Experience using Supply Chain systems (SAP and Infor Nexus), Bid tools and applications, and Transportation Management software preferred. Experience with exporting and/or importing via various ports of entry and modes of transportation.
- Experience with global transportation providers. Knowledge of trade programs related to textile and apparel
- English required
- Experience in logistics, transportation, customs, international trade, manufacturing, and/or distribution.
- Proficiency in data analysis and data analytical tools
- Knowledge of all transportation modes
- Critical thinking, ability to problem solve and resourceful at seeking resolution
- Ability to manage through or escalate issues
- Ability to learn and utilize various types of software / information systems
