Position Overview (Briefly describe primary purpose of position.  No more than 2-3 sentences.)

The primary function of this position is to contribute and maintain the production of Sortrak orders.  This will involve troubleshooting and problem solving any issue that interferes with efficiency in their assigned area of Sortrak production.

Essential Functions

  • Production in their assigned Sortrak area
  • Assist peers with production concerns
  • Detailed knowledge of WM and SDI systems
  • Run queries and reports for Sortrak team
  • Effective application of LEAN principles
  • Timely completion of 5S audits
  • Timely communication and follow up on maintenance requests (i.e. belt jams)
  • Timely communication of production issues to lead and supervisor
  • Identification and communication of safety hazards or concerns in assigned area
  • Ensure assigned work area is clean from dust and debris
  • Keep Sortrak running at all times in the assigned work area
  • And any other duties as specified by supervisor.

Set-Up for Daily Operations

  • At the start of the shift, the employee will review the work instructions and production plan with the supervisor
  • The employee will ensure that peers from assigned team have all supplies and equipment required to perform the work.
  • The employee will ensure that peers from the assigned team are using all required PPE and safety gear.

End of Shift Duties

  • The employee will follow end of shift procedures and perform general housekeeping duties, sweep, pick up trash, trimmings and other debris from the work area and place it in the proper receptacles or move the compactor
  • The employee will secure all equipment and machinery and complete all required paperwork.
  • The employee will complete other duties as directed by the Supervisor

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

 

Reading and writing literate; working knowledge of computers including AS400;  working mathematical knowledge;  able to walk, stand or lift for entire shift;  ability to maintain work flow between employees and management when completing orders;  good communications skills;  Able to take directions from Supervisors/Managers

Compensation Information

Rate of Pay: $18.54, plus $1.00 Shift differential
