Position Overview:
The primary role of the human resources coordinator is to assist the human resources manager in developing, coordinating, managing and directing the implementation and maintenance of approved human resources programs and course of action focused upon providing service and support to business unit objectives. This position serves as a resource for employees and vendors regarding human resources inquires and work to resolve issues in a professional manner. The incumbent will assist with special projects and employee involvement events, and assist with position approval tracking through all steps of hiring process. Performs clerical functions required in preparing, processing and maintaining employment records, personnel files, salary administration, labor relations and interpreting certain personnel policies. Serve as a resource for employees and vendors regarding human resources inquiries and work to resolve issues in a professional manner.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with position approval tracking through all steps of the hiring process (DC hourly positions).
- Provides administration and interpretation on employment procedures, salary administration procedures, labor relations and general policy interpretation.
- Maintains the HR hourly policies and procedures. Maintains new/revised policies as well as accountable for making sure policies are posted correctly.
- Manages employee records and file movement and acts as Records Retention Coordinator for Human Resources
- Reacts to calls from employment verifications when necessary, completes ESC forms as necessary.
- Provides administrative support to organizational development.
- Lawson – utilize on a daily basis to provide information to support the HR Manager when needed.
- Conduct hourly new hire employee orientations.
- Complete monthly AAP reports, tract turnover and headcount.
- Assist in coordinating employee meetings and activities.
- Sign employees up for unemployment when applicable.
- Assist with administration of leaves by working closely with leave administrator.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Education/Degrees: High school diploma required. Post high school education a plus.
Years of Experience: At least four to five years’ experience in Human Resources.
Special skills: Excellent PC skills; must be proficient in Word and Excel. Position requires excellent math aptitude and analytical ability; excellent English grammar and composition skills; ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and to deal tactfully, discreetly and effectively with all employees, including officers of the company
Incumbent needs high attention to detail to accurately coordinate all employee personnel and payroll data. Position requires ability to effectively organize and plan administrative activities and to manage time effectively.
Incumbent must be able to maintain confidentiality of information regarding employees, corrective action situations, compensation information, and all phases of employee relations issues, as well as be able to handle a variety of sensitive situations in a calm, tactful and understanding manner.
