Utility Maintenance

I.                    PRIMARY PURPOSE

Responsible for general maintenance of utilities equipment and service equipment. Must be multi-skilled and able to perform a variety of duties including changing, charging, cleaning and inspecting powered equipment batteries.

Maintain communications, battery and equipment utilization records on a computer system.

•      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform basic maintenance as needed to keep batteries in good working order and ready for use.
• Operates pallet rider
• Assist mechanics with general duties
• Follow up and resolve issues.
• Report results of problems / issues to DC Management.
• Gather trash and recycled items from containers.
• Operate Trash Compactor and Baler.
• Clean, maintain and fill propane tanks.
• Document all procedures.
• Responsible for all safety signs, lift area, eye wash stations and all general DC safety items.
• Must be licensed to operate  a lift… on-the-job training provided.
• Employee is responsible for safety that includes following all safety rules and following proper Lock Out Tag Out Procedures.
• Perform other duties assigned.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS

• Read, write, add subtract, multiply and divide – understand implied instructions.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Must have general mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hand tools.
• Must understand battery maintenance and techniques.
• Ability to learn and comprehend distribution/production business is required.
• Must have good communication skills
