Responsible for the daily sales management of activewear mid-tier/department stores. The incumbent will support the Vice President in leading all aspects of the Sales Management process, including business planning and development, marketing, forecasting, and overall sales optimization. In leading and directing a results sales team culture, the incumbent will drive key business analysis used to shape strategy, structure, and revenue/profitability improvement. The position requires the individual to establish, support, and foster a collaborative working partnership with internal functional support departments and external customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop LRP and AOP business and marketing plans to achieve the short and long term objectives of Activewear business segment in mid-tier and department store channels.
- Communicate pertinent information between the field sales organization, marketing and corporate management. Communication includes weekly reporting, product and program updates.
- Manage the development and maintenance of accurate forecasts, including current and future projections for the Activewear business using historical sales data. Lead and participate in the periodic review with marketing, production planning, customer service and finance.
- Lead the preparation of periodic Outlooks/LE’s utilizing historical sales and sell-through data plus current sales activities for the Activewear business.
- Develop and oversee comprehensive reporting and analysis to aid in management decision-making. Drive for summarized/meaningful reporting and the automation of manual processes.
- Attend/prepare for account calls so as to fully understand Customer needs/desires and direct sales force with driving the business to stated objectives. Prepare post call communication for internal partners.
- Direct and train staff in all aspects of their jobs.
- Maintains a high performance work environment and provides leadership throughout areas of responsibility to insure optimum internal and external partner relationships.
- Responsible for key inputs for weekly staff and monthly business review meetings.
- Knowledge and understanding of channel and customer key retail POS metrics
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree required; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in Sales with a minimum of 4 years in a managerial/decision making capacity.
- Expert knowledge of apparel marketplace and retailer trends a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under tight deadlines, work effectively in a matrix organization, excellent interpersonal/ people skills required to achieve desired results.
- Advanced PC skills.
- The successful candidate will have strong leadership and communications skills, a highly collaborative style, and impeccable business ethics.
